Company History
1984 The company Wimmer Hartstahl GmbH&CO KG was founded by Eng. Alois Wimmer. The production at this time focused on bucket an steel track repair, as well as manufacturing of buckets by itself.
1985 was the year of the hydraulic quick coupler. The A-Lock was invented and sold first time into the Austrian Market. The first step towards a full concept line for hydraulic excavator has been done, through this quick coupling system
1988 A new production facility has been established in Thalgau, close to Salzburg, which still is the head quarter of Wimmer Internatinonal
1989 Wimmer Felstechnik GmbH has been founded. This company main concern is research and development, as well as manufacturing of demolition tools and drilling units
1993 Wimmer Budweis in Ceske Budejovice / Czech Republic has been founded , as a 100% subsidiary of Wimmer International, producing machined parts
1995 ISO 9001-Certification
1996 Wimmer Canada Inc. was set up in Montreal / Canada to serve the North American continent with the full production line of Wimmer International, partly produced at the Canadian subsidiary .
2001 The office got extended and a training centre established
2004 Expansion of the production facility at the head quarter in Thalgau and at Wimmer Canada. The 20th Anniversary Celebration took place in Thalgau. A-Lock Oilmatic was introduced.
2005 Relaunch of the facility in Budweis and installation of a new production hall. Also 2005 construction of the trainingscenter Rannberg.
2006 Wimmer Hartstahl gets the Title "Salzburgs best Family Business 2006" in a national qualifiing.
