From the foundation until today
A lot has happened since the foundation in 1984 and we can look back on an eventful history. Step by step we have grown. In addition to the constant expansion of the product range and the increasing number of employees with the associated expansion of our buildings, we look back on many highlights and innovations - and look forward to the future!
1984
Foundation of the company Wimmer Hartstahl GmbH & CO KG by engineer Alois Wimmer. At first bucket and drive repairs up to the first self-made buckets.
1985
Invention and market launch of the A-Lock hydraulic quick-change system, marking the first step towards a total concept for the hydraulic excavator.
1988
Relocation to the newly built production facility in Thalgau in favor of a higher production capacity.
1989
Year of foundation of the company Wimmer Felstechnik and extension of the product portfolio by demolition tools, mounted drill rigs and line drilling rigs.
1993
Foundation of the Czech company WIMMER Felstechnik WIMMER International CZ s.l.r. as a 100% subsidiary in Budweis. The production there comprises mainly machine-made small parts.
1995
ISO 9001 certification of Wimmer Hartstahl for high quality and safety standards in production and sales.
2001
Reconstruction/expansion of the office wing and construction of a multimedia training center.
2004
Market launch of the A-Lock Oilmatic, the first fully automatic quick-change system in Central Europe. Construction of a new, additional hall for rental park and service.
2005
Modernization of the Budweis site and construction of a new production hall. Also in 2005, construction of the Rannberg seminar center.
2006
Wimmer Hartstahl is voted the best family business in the state of Salzburg in a nationwide ranking.
2008
Market entry with the Oilmaxx system, another fully automatic quick-change system. Development of the "Tiltator" rotary swivel adapter.
2010
Further expansion of the office wing. Takeover of general agency and service of Klemm deep drilling rigs in Austria and South Tyrol.
2013
Redesign and modernization of the corporate design.
2015
Managing Director Ing. Alois Wimmer is honored by Baublatt Austria with the award "Die Goldene Schaufel 2015". This is awarded for special merits in the construction industry.
2016
Development of the unique bucket configurator "Selektor". It allows customers and field staff to easily and quickly configure an individually customized bucket. It goes with the languages...
2017
New office building for our site in Budweis.
Foundation of the company Wimmer North America.
2018
Conversion of a large part of the power supply at the Thalgau headquarters to an in-house ecological photovoltaic system and the installation of charging stations to promote electric mobility.
Expansion of the Budweis site with an additional production hall.
2019
Since August 2019, Felstechnik GmbH has been entitled to bear the federal coat of arms as an award for extraordinary achievements.
